Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on front-end development to join our team for a prestigious banking client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building scalable, secure, and user-friendly banking applications, with a primary emphasis on front-end technologies while maintaining solid back-end expertise. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative banking solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD$110k -CAD$125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain front-end features for banking applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
  • Build robust back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and user-centric interfaces.
  • Ensure high performance, security, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end services through RESTful APIs.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in full stack development, especially in banking and financial services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 9+ years of proven experience in full-stack development, with a focus on front-end-heavy architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related back-end frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with front-end technologies such as React.js, or Vue.js.
  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and UI/UX principles.
  • +2 years experience developing distributed cloud applications (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Azure, Docker).
  • Relational Database and data modeling experience using SQL Server.
  • Hands on experience designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger).
  • Experience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, Maven, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance).
  • Experience working within professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing.
  • Understanding of agile mythologies and project management using JIRA.
  • UML and Design patterns.
  • Proficient in various web technologies and string experiment on Frond-end development.
  • Open-minded, collaborative, and an effective team player.
  • Understanding of security standards and data protection mechanisms in banking.

Preferred skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to banking compliance and regulatory requirements.
